An <strong>infographic<\/strong> is often designed to provoke discussion or promote an idea, so can afford to be more visually rich than a <strong>visualisation<\/strong> that&#8217;s main objection is analysis.<\/p>\n<p>Personally I define the differences between Infographics and Information Visualisation as:<br \/>\n<strong>Infographics:<\/strong> present the viewer with a conclusion or a story<br \/>\n<strong>Information Visualisations:<\/strong> give the viewer a means to discover their <em>own<\/em> conclusions<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Data:\u00a0a record of related quantities Information:\u00a0organised data Information Visualisation:\u00a0schematically represented information But that only defines what it is, not it&#8217;s purpose &amp; why?
